Professional Statement

I began working with families affected with Lysosomal Storage Disorders in the fall of 1994 under the mentorship of John Barranger, MD, Ph.D. after completing my Master’s Degree in Genetic Counseling.  Since that time I have worked exclusively with Lysosomal Storage Disorders and those affected with Hypophosphatasia while doing work in the areas of clinical genetics, research trial coordination, and disease registry management.  I see patients of all ages at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and am pleased to attend conferences focusing on these conditions.  My other interests include teaching at local schools, guest lectures for the first and second-year genetic counseling students, and any opportunity to pass on a love for genetics to others in the community.
